Those who are familiar with Thao’s work, know that her choreographies are influenced and immersed by some of Japanese long traditions like the tea ceremony, origami and the cherry blossom. Intrigued by the everlasting subdued perfection, beauty and serenity of the above, Thao implements, transforms and plays with these elements.
For the celebration of ANA’s direct flight from Brussels to Tokyo we created a new story for ‘THE WALL’, an interactive dance choreography with projections. In the storyboard we not only portrayed ANA’s history and highlights, but also integrated images of Japanese nature and its beautiful, ancient traditions. Together with the music from Japanese violist Taro Hakase and Taiko drummers, the story evolved in a romantic & playful, yet dynamic performance. Click HERE to find out more about ‘THE WALL’.
